Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center is a
one-stop resource for a variety of services to the
aging and disabled citizens of Greene County.
The Center's philosophy is to "consider the needs
of the whole person, whatever those needs are".
These services originate in a 10,000 square foot,
handicapped accessible building near downtown
Xenia. There are rooms for meetings, socializing,
lounging, dining and many other activities.
Hundreds of members and their guests enjoy the
Center. The Center is open to the community
for meetings and other special events.
Seniors keep busy and find purpose in their lives
with the help of full-time and part-time staff and
the support from dozens of volunteers.
A free standing 1400 square foot SAFE ROOM
(tornado shelter) will provide safety for the aging
as well as those in the surrounding neighborhood
during destructive, emergency weather conditions.
The Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center
was organized in 1968 for the purpose of
providing recreational, educational and volunteer
opportunities for the older adults. The Center seeks
to create a sense of community and support, and
allows seniors to continue to be involved and to
utilize their skills to the fullest.
The Center is committed to serving all senior
citizens and intends to provide, or to arrange the
provision of, services which allow the more frail
aging to continue to function independently in
the community.
